This is a very exciting time to be considering joining us at NIMS.
National institute For Media Studies, NIMS (Under the aegis of Guiding Light Foundation) has been incorporated with a vision of bringing world class state-of-art media education to the Indian sub-continent, and in the process contributing to the cause of providing our country with a new generation of young and enthusiastic individuals’- experts in their own rights. With media industry poised to growth at a rate 19% CAG from it present 2006 Rs 35,300 crores to Rs 83,740 crores by 2010 according to a FCCI– PricewaterhouseCopper report.1 This growth can bee seen in all kinds of media like print, television, radio, film and entertainment, which leaves wide gap in the industry for quality professionals. This gives an opportunity for our institute to leverage the market conditions and via facilitate our students to craft a fruitful career.
Studying for an undergraduate or an post graduate degree is a major investment in terms of both time and money, and the choices you make now may have a far reaching impact on your future. It is important that you consider very carefully the options open to you and choose a degree programme that will assist you on your chosen career path. The syllabus has been designed by key industry professionals and academicians keeping in mind the latest media trends, both in content and technology. The course curriculum lays emphasis on workshops and field reporting aimed at turning our students into professionals meeting industry needs.
